You are invited into an exchange of stories about urban relationships between Montreal and Tokyo.
This exhibition will include invitations to participate and story collection stations at the entrances to Design Festa’s East and West Galleries, a website (starting April 1st, www.cityalive.info) and a one day video exhibition and story collection performance in Design Festa Gallery West, where you are invited to meet the lead artist.
This is the second phase of a collaborative art project. The video that will be shown of the Montreal event involved over 12 artists and audience members. Taking place over 3 hours and in 3 viewing cycles, 35 audience members shared stories of relationships they have experienced, while 12 artist worked to record, edit and provide personalized and group performances in order to create the environment of story collecting. I will also be gathering stories about lives and relationships in Tokyo to bring back to Montreal, and to create video artworks from.
